Before becoming a tape artist, Nihalani studied political science at New York University, but as a hobby, he often drew hats and T-shirts, and his interest in his studies gradually decreased. His friend suggested that he switch to an art major, and Nihalani began to polish his style and create works. Soon, he felt the distress of many artists and hoarded many paintings that were rejected by collectors and galleries. In this distress, Nihalani thought of his medium: colored tape.
